Galvanized, Galvalume, or painted?
The coating decides.
All three are coated steel — the coating sets the corrosion resistance, the look, and the warranty.
The difference
Three coatings
Galvanized
A zinc coating — economical, with solid corrosion resistance and a mill-silver look.
Galvalume
A zinc-aluminum coating with better long-term corrosion resistance than galvanized and a bright finish — the standard bare metal roof.
Prepainted
A Galvalume base with baked-on paint — color choice plus up to a 40-year paint finish warranty.
Which to choose
Bare and cheap → galvanized. Bare and longest-lasting → Galvalume. Color + warranty → painted.
For exposed bare metal, Galvalume outlasts galvanized. Want color and a long warranty? Go prepainted. We supply all three across our roofing profiles.
