Choosing a metal roof?
Profile, gauge, finish.

Three decisions size up most metal-roof orders: the panel profile, the steel gauge, and the finish.

The difference

Three decisions

Profile

Exposed-fastener (R-Panel, PBR, Ag-Panel) is economical and fast. Standing seam hides the fasteners for the best weathertightness and a premium look. Simulated tile gives the tile look without the weight.

Gauge

26 ga is the standard for homes, ag, and light commercial. 24 ga is heavier for commercial, high-wind, and longer spans. 22 ga is the heaviest exposed-fastener option.

Finish

Galvalume is the economical bare metal. Prepainted adds color and up to a 40-year paint finish warranty.

Which to choose

Most builds: R-Panel, 26 ga, galvalume.
Premium: standing seam, 24 ga, painted.

For ag buildings and budgets, R-Panel or Ag-Panel in 26 ga galvalume is hard to beat. For architectural or high-wind work, standing seam in 24 ga prepainted. We roll all of them — send the building and we'll spec it.
