Purlins

LP Steel manufactures Steel purlins in Arizona on our state-of-the-art Purlin mill from domestic steel. We have a size range of 4” to 24” with hole or slot punching available anywhere on the member from the flange to the web or the return.

We also make corresponding Channels and Zee purlins in this same size range. We stock over 1000 tons of steel in both Red and galvanized coatings and gauges that range from 16 ga down to 10 ga.

Our standard purlins are made of Grade 55 steel but we have the capability to roll up to 120 KSI material for special projects. Please see the attached brochure for our full range of sizes, gauges, and weight-per-foot charts.

Flat Bar

Angle Iron

Angle iron is formed in a specific shape to be extremely stable and able to bear excessive amounts of pressure and weight. Normally bent into a 90-degree angle. Angle iron is often used to frame or build various pieces of furniture, supporting structures, walls, or shelves. We offer 0.5”-4” angle iron.

Round Bar and Rebar Steel

Rebar, also known as reinforcement steel, is a steel bar used in reinforced concrete and masonry structures to strengthen and hold the concrete in tension. To improve the quality of the bond with the concrete, the surface of the rebar is often patterned. Round Bar, on the other hand, is a long cylindrical metal bar stock that also has many industrial and commercial applications.

We stock Rebar in #3, 4, and 5 in 20′ lengths. We stock Round bar in 1/8, 3/8, 1/2,, 5/8, 3/4 and 1″

Galvanized Square

Our tubing is manufactured from domestic ASTM standard pre-galvanized steel, our tube is of uncompromising quality. After the pre-galvanized steel is formed into a tube, it is coated with a high-quality clear topcoat for durable protection. The end result is longer-lasting corrosion protection and a shiny smooth exterior finish. We typically stock lengths of 20’ and 24’. Our galvanized steel square tube is the superior choice for use when building material as it is more resistant to rust because it is galvanized both inside and out. The galvanized tube lends itself great to wrought iron fencing, metal structures, and other applications where oxidation can become problematic.

Raw Uncoated Black Square

We also carry square tubes in a pickled and oiled or raw black surface for an economical solution to a galvanized square tube product. We carry the black square tube in ornamental sizes that range from 1 / 2” to 2.5” in 16ga. 14ga and 11ga. We carry structural square tubes or HSS in 2” to 6” up to 1 / 4 wall in stock and have many other sizes available upon request.

Hot rolled sheets are perfect to use for construction, pipes, tubes, truck frames, doors, shelves, railroad tracks, and work benches or tables. We have different gauges available to meet your strength level. We carry 4’ X 8’ SHEETS.

Expanded Metal

Expanded metal is frequently used to make fences, trailers, and cages, as the material is very durable and strong. The many small openings in the material allow flow through of air, water, and light, while still providing a mechanical barrier to larger objects.

Diamond Plates

Diamond plates provide traction to reduce the risk of slipping. In industrial environments, a non-skid diamond plate is used for stairs, catwalks, work platforms, walkways, and ramps to improve safety.

Pipe and tube

L.P. Steel is a competitive producer of pipe and square tubes in the southwest United States. Our pipe is manufactured from domestic ASTM standard pre-galvanized steel and is of uncompromising quality. We ensure all pipe is coated with anti-corrosion protection to increase the look and longevity of the material. It is available in a full range of gauges and sizes. Mare Motels

These open-air structures provide protection from the elements while also providing ventilation and visibility of livestock. All of our Mare Motels are free-standing structures that employ 4” diameter posts set in concrete, light gauge Track and purlin framing, and 26 ga Metal roofing available in 14 Standard colors. These structures are equipped with freestanding corral panels that can be repositioned as events dictate, for example you have a mare getting ready to fool you can add or remove a panel to adjust the size of the pen to your particular needs. Some other highlights to consider are 

  • Corral Panels are available in Galvanized or Black 3-rail, 4-rail, or 5-rail
  • Mare Motels are fully engineered to your local building codes with Stamped and sealed Drawings available for Permit submittal
  • No welding is required for the installation everything screws together 
  • Available in both Gable and Raised breaseways 
  • Mare Motels come in a multitude of configurations some examples are 12’ x 12’ stalls with a 10’ breezeway, 12 X 16 stalls, and 16 x 16 Stalls with a 12’ breezeway.

Shed Rows

Shed Rows and an economical solution if you are tight on space and want to have your stalls in a row as opposed to opposing like in a mare motel. We can design your shed row inline, back to back, in an L shape or a U shape. These barns are great for the Arizona heat or for seasonal activities such as horse racing. Shed Rows are constructed using similar materials as a mare motel in that we use 4” upright posts set in concrete 8” or 10” track and purlin and 26 ga steel roofing.  Some other highlights are;

The Regular center peaked Carport is our most economical unit, from a single carport to a fully enclosed garage these carports are manufactured from high quality galvanized square tube framework to provide long lasting value. The Carport has a rolled roof, which helps protect from sun and rain. The rolled roof comes down the sides about 6 inches strengthen-ing the sides as well as the roof. These sheets run hor-izontally, allowing this design to be effective and an economical choice for your carport. WE offer two types of delivery service the first is an economical solution where we arrive with the truck full of goods and the customer provides a means of off loading typically a tractor or a few people to assist. The secound option is we send a helper with the driver to assist in unloading. In the secound senerio we just unload at the curb of the property.
